In an effort to support reproductive health care privacy, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently modified the standards for privacy of individually identifiable health information (the “Privacy Rule”) relevant to an individual’s reproductive health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), as amended.
